Ornament Exchange Party

On Sunday we went to an ornament exchange party at my in-laws. She had friends and family there, and we ate great food, and played games. Here is a cute picture of the Sylvia Boys. Andy, in the middle, is the oldest. Next is Nate, on the left. He is married to Lacy, and they have a beautiful daughter named Lyla. Last but not least, Gregg. He is the baby, and is currently single.... know anyone? The brothers are all close in age and get along so well. It has been fun getting to know them and what it is like to have a brother.

Lacy and me at the ornament exchange party. I am so glad that even though Lacy has 5 sisters of her own, she has taken me in as one of her own. We have so much fun, watching our kids grow up together!

Dallin and Lyla... Dallin loves his cousin. He is attempting to hold her on his lap. He is always trying to hug and kiss her. I think he must be trying to tell us he needs a sibling (ya right!)

Dallin meets Santa

Dallin caught onto the whole "Santa" thing really fast. He loves saying his name and pointing to anything that has him in it... so I thought he was ready to meet the real thing. When we were standing in line to see him, Dallin was so excited and tried running up there a few times. Finally it was our turn and the outcome..well.. see for yourself . Maybe next year!

One year later

So I found this adorable picture of Dallin and me last christmas, and had to post it. It is so amazing to me that he is already 15 months old. I feel like the year has flown by so fast, but it has been such a wonderful journey and I have learned so much from being a mom.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

So yesterday was thanksgiving, so I felt like I should mention a few things that I am grateful for this year.

1. My family- I love being a mom and a wife. Every day I wake up I am so happy my life has turned out the way it has. Also, mine and Andy's parents are amazing. They are the best grandparents to Dallin, and are always there to help us when we need it!
2. My friends- I feel very fortunate to have wonderful friends who I can always count on for anything. I love spending time with them and laughing.
3. My job- For those of you who dont know, I work at Primary Children's Medical Center as an X-ray tech. I love my job so much! Unfortunately I see some very sad stuff there, but it only makes me more grateful for what I have and my own family's health. I love that I only have to work three days a week so that I can spend the remaining time home with my son!
4. My father in heaven
5. My house- We jsut moved into our townhouse a few months ago and I love every minute of it. They are still in the construction stage so things have been a mess. They just finished putting in some massive swings and a park, and are getting ready to open up the clubhouse and hot tub any day. I love meeting all my new neighbors and getting to know them.

Well I guess I could go on all day, but who has the time!

Fun in the Airport

So we were at the airport waiting to board our plane home from California and we got creative with our luggage. We were trying to figure out a way to tire Dallin out so he would sleep on the plane (easier said than done). After wheeling him around for a while and letting him run around the airport we finally boarded. After about a half hour he was soooo tired, but was fighting sleep. I had to practically lay on him so he could not get up, and sing to him. Finally, he zonked out on Daddy's lap. HOORAY!

This was a beach just minutes away from my aunts house. Northern california is not known for their warm water, so we were not able to get in (with the exception of our feet). Also, here is a pic of the whole gang at my aunt Sarah's and uncle Gregg's house in Ft. Bragg. We enjoyed a wonderful thanksgiving dinner and we got to see my cousin Kelly who I have not seen for seven years. She loved playing with Dallin, and Andy and I sure enjoyed the relief!

CALI!!

So we went to northern California with my family for an early thanksgiving to visit my aunts who live there. This was a beach house that we rented for a few nights and it was BEAUTIFUL! We woke up to the waves crashing into the rocks, and spent the evening in the hot tub looking up at the stars.

GO RED SOX

So last night the Boston Red Sox won the World Series again! Hooray. For those of you who don't know, my husband Andy is a HUGE Red Sox fan. His whole family is from there, and he actually lived there for many years. I have been converted to a Sox fan myself. This entire post season has been full of many get-togethers with family and friends at our house to enjoy the games. Now that the baseball season is over, we don't have anything to do....

One Happy Family

So we got family pictures done a few weeks ago, and I got them back yesterday. They turned out so good! We decided to go to a spot at the base of the canyon because the leaves were just starting to chang colors and it was so beautiful. Here's a few examples of the pictures!

Lyla Kate

This is my beautiful neice, Lyla. She is almost three months now but since I have been slacking on my blog posts, I am just trying to catch up. I was lucky enough to witness this precious little girl enter the world. Even though I have a child of my own, it is truly amazing seeing the entire process from a different perspective. Seeing her take her first breath, watching her mom and dad see her for the first time, as tears fill their eyes.. oh what joy! Thanks Lacy for letting me share the moment with you!

Mr. Independent

For those of you who have kids, you know this phase... the "I must do everything on my own" phase. Dallin will not eat unless he can do it himself. It is pretty funny when he grabs the whole thing out of your hands and starts diggin in. Isnt he adorable?

Getting Bigger

Dallin is officially walking. He is so cute, we call him Frank because when he walks he looks like frankenstein with his hands straight out in front of him. He still needs to crawl to get himself to something to pull himself up on, but after that he just takes off. He also has expanded his vocabulary from "da da" to "na na". Now we just need a little "ma ma" and everyone can be happy!!! (okay just me) I love watching Dallin get bigger. He has grown up so fast. He is truly the smartest little boy I know.

Father's day

Well yesterday was father's day, and it was a good day. We went to church in the morning, then after we went and looked at our new town house. I am so excited for it to be done, not too long now. We ate dinner at the Sylvia's, then we went over to my parent's for dessert and a game of croquet (Andy is our new champion). Spending time with our families is so much fun. I am so glad we can all get along and have a good time together.

Motherhood

This is my gorgeous baby boy Dallin. He is nearing 10 months old, and have I loved every minute of it. Yesterday he officially took 4 steps on his own. It should not be much longer before he starts walking. Being a mom is the best thing ever. I cant believe he is almost a year old.

New Blogger

Well guess I decided to jump on the band wagon and start my own blog. Because I have so much free time and everything, it seems appropriate to start a new hobby! I hope you all enjoy my family as much as I do!
