Privacy

So everyone seems to be getting freaked out about the "privacy" of our blogs. I agree, there are freaks out there who might go crazy on us, so I decided to do something a little different. I removed all the last names of people on my blog (for their own privacy), as well as re-named my blog so that my last name is not in it. I feel very good about that, and if blocking it seems to become more of a trend, I may make mine private. Until then, enjoy!

Burnt Out

I am so done working. I love my job, dont get me wrong, but lately I have really struggled to get up and go to work, let alone stay for over 12 1/2 hours. I know I should not complain, because I really am fortunate to only have to work 3 days a week, but I am getting so tired. So here I am, sunday night, dreading tomorrow. Ultimately, I would love to work twice a week, that is just enough to get out of the house for a break, but not feel like I am missing out on too much. I love being home with Dallin, and I am really trying to introduce him to new friends and go explore the world. I hate that I am never home to be able to cook dinner. I have very little experience cooking, and if I were home more, I would love to practice! Maybe one day.... I guess I need to just be grateful for our house, and our cars and our life... we really are very lucky to have such wonderful lives, I just needed to vent. Bye now!

Talk-a-holic

My cute little baby (17 months old) is talking like a 4 year old. Dallin is at a point where he tries to repeat everything you say. It is so adorable, especially since he is so little. I am quite impressed to say the least. I don't really know if he is necessarily "ahead of the gang" but he sure seems to be learning so much really fast (well he is his mother's child...j/k) He also is remembering things so well. The other day we were sitting up in the family room and he went and grabbed our barstools and moved them to the middle of the room. Then he went and got our big blanket and tried to put the blanket on top of the barstools. I wondered what the heck he was doing, and then it dawned on me... about four months ago I had made a fort with the barstools and the blanket. How in the world did he remember that, and why right then? He is so funny. I love being a mom.

The new me

Here I am. The new me. What is different you might ask? Well, I have entered the world of contacts. That is right, contacts. Bye Bye glasses. I have tried contacts before and HATED them. My eyes always felt like there was something in them, and I felt tired all day. I gave up. One day I decided to try again, switch doctors and get a different kind of contact. It's like magic. These new ones are amazing. The first time I put them in I could not believe it. It felt like.... well.... nothing. So now I can show off my eyes. (k not really, but whatever.)

Tantrums

Welcome to the rest of my life.. Dallin is figuring out how to throw a tantrum. Oh the joys of listening to a 1 1/2 year old scream his head off yelling, "no" and hitting you. It has been a lovely last few days. Why is it that your children are so good for other people, but the second that you get in the room all breaks loose. Dallin is typically really well behaved, and I am pretty sure that the main reason he acts out is when he is bored. Unfortunately we have had to spend the last few days in the waiting room at the hospital with my brother in law being admitted to the ICU. Dallin has been a pretty good sport, but he has been bored out of his mind. Hopefully when we get back into the normal routine, full of books, toys and regular sleeping patterns, then the cute well behaved Dallin I remember will return!! Until then...

Answers

So in regards to my last post, I think you just have to pick a blog template that is wide enough to accomidate your previous template layout... this one worked just fine without deleting. I guess it is a mystery.

Blogging troubles

So does anyone know how to change their blog template without it deleting the stuff off the sides? Every time I try it erases my Friends list and the other pics and profiles off the right side. Please help me if you know how, thanks!

My masterpiece

This is the latest addition to our house. Isnt it great! Thanks to some combined Christmas gifts from my sister and Andy, I created this wonderful mix if ribbon, frames, and a clock. I needed something big and bold to fill up some of the huge wall I have. The pictures I had there before did not compare to this THING. Anyway, just thought I would share with all of you my masterpiece. Now I just need to fill it with pictures of our cute family!!! Bye Bye

Dallin's New Chair

This is Dallin on Christmas morning. Santa brought him his own little person chair, isnt it adorable. He sure loves that thing, in fact, CHAIR is his new favorite word to say. I love how he is saying new things every day. He is so smart!

Dallin in 50 years

So my uncle Gary walked into our Christmans eve party wearing this hat. It was hilarious because my uncle has white hair, and we all thought it was real at first. Dallin looked the best though, and papa's glasses just top off the whole look. We all passed around the hat seeing what we would look like with the "spiked look"

Sleep-a-thon

I just thought I might let you all know that I have been experiencing something quite new for the last two weeks... a full night's sleep. For those who don't know, I have been blessed with 17 months of sleepless nights. Dallin woke up every two hours for the first three months of life. Then it tapered down to every three to four hours. When we stopped feeding him a bottle at 12 months, we had to find other strategies to get him back to bed. He is not a cuddler, so rocking did not work. We attempted the co-sleeping, which sometimes worked except the only one sleeping was Dallin (his feet were always pressed up against either Andy or me). So, about two weeks ago I decided to cut back Dallin's sleep during the day. For those who have kids, you know this is a very hard thing to do. Nap time is one of the day's greatest pleasures for moms. Well, believe it or not, Dallin has slept through the night EVERY SINGLE NIGHT since (exept for christmas which does not count because he was all messed up with so much excitement). So now we are on the one nap a day schedule, which really isnt all that bad after all!
